We are delighted to welcome our next Year 7 cohort to King’s Leadership Academy Wavertree. As an established and growing academy, our systems, routines and expectations are firmly embedded, creating a calm, purposeful and highly structured environment where pupils thrive. We are uncompromising in our standards and ambitious for every child, ensuring that from day one pupils understand what excellence looks like - both academically and in character. We are excited to support this next cohort as they begin their journey with us and become part of a community built on high expectations, strong relationships and a belief that every child can succeed. New pupils and parents will find this webpage useful to help with the transition to secondary school over the coming months.

We know that seeing a school in action is an important step for parents.

For this reason, we are offering the opportunity to visit the school for a short guided tour during the school day. During the tour you will be able to see lessons taking place, experience the atmosphere of the school, and explore our facilities.

A member of the Senior Leadership Team will also be available to answer any questions you may have about the curriculum, school culture, and the opportunities available to students.

There were 4 key dates that prospective parents should have had in their diaries:

• Information & Uniform Evening, This was an opportunity for parents to learn about the year ahead, meet staff, and have their child fitted for uniform - Wednesday 15^th April
• Baseline Tests - We ran a morning and afternoon session for pupils to complete their baseline reading and cognitive ability assessments - Saturday 16^th May or Saturday 6^th June
• Y6 Transition Day - This was the yearly city-wide transition day where Year 6 pupils spent the day experiencing life at their new secondary school - Wednesday 1^st July
• 1-2-1 Interviews - We held our final parental meetings for each parent and child before officially starting as a King’s pupil - Wednesday 15^th July

Liverpool offers a range of programmes to help parents understand the transition and support their child at home. These include:

• YPAS parenting support and presentations
• LCC Parent Transition Workshop (4‑week programme)
• Solihull 'Moving Up' online courses, including support for children with additional needs.
• “Talking Teens” workshops on behaviour, routines, friendships and independence
• Parent Workshops about the SEND Graduated Approach
