Despite the best efforts from the Great Schools Trust, Liverpool City Council (LCC) and the Department for Education (DfE), the Secretary of State is not able to sign a funding agreement for the school. This is due to unforeseen delays in obtaining the necessary planning permissions. Therefore, the difficult decision has been made to move the realistic year of opening for King’s Wavertree to September 2025 at the earliest for a year 7 cohort, subject to the signing of a funding agreement.
