Study with us

As a new secondary free school that is awaiting signing of our funding agreement, we have the unique opportunity to manage our own admissions process during our first year of operation. The information below will help guide you through this process.

What does this mean?

Our school does not appear on the Liverpool City Council admissions system. If you would like to apply for a place you must do it with us directly by completing this form

Here are some common questions about the process;

  • Have we missed the admissions deadline? No, whilst the Liverpool admissions deadline was 31st October 2024, our own deadline for admission forms is 28th February 2025.
  • Does filling out an admission form with King's change my Liverpool preferences choices? No, the two admissions systems work independently of one another for this year. Filling out one has no impact on the other.
  • So what will happen on National Offer Day? Liverpool will still give you a school place offer according to your preference choices and spaces available in those schools. If we have our funding agreement signed by this date, which we hope we will, you may also receive an offer of a place with us. This means you will then have a choice of where to send your child come September.
  • How do you decide who gets a place at King's Wavertree? In September 2025, we can only accept a maximum of 210 pupils in our first year. We take every pupil who has an admission form with us and then prioritise them according to following which is taken from our admissions policy;
    • The first priority goes to any pupils who are Looked After Children (these will be the first families we call to offer a place)
    • The second priority goes to any pupils who hold an Educational Health Care Plan (these will be the next families we call to offer a place)
    • All remaining spaces (up to a maximum of 210) are prioritised based on the distance the pupil lives from the school - the closer they live, the higher the priority they are given (we continue down this list of families until all 210 places have been offered)

Application Form

Completing our application form is easy and should take no more then 90 seconds to do - to complete it electronically, click this link. Alternatively you can download/print and complete a copy of the form below and return it to us by email at info@kingswavertree.com.

Parents who apply to us should also submit a common application form to their home local authority to apply for other schools. This can be done through this link for Liverpool City Council. Any offers of pupil places for King's Leadership Academy Wavertree will be conditional and dependent on a funding agreement being entered into with the Secretary of State.
